Why "Heritage Farms"?

You might be wondering why the blog is named "Heritage Farms". This is the name of Mark & I's Farm- to- be. As well as the name of our Kennel (Heritage Farms Kennel).

According to Webster's 1828 Dictionary, heritage is defined thusly:

HER'ITAGE, n.

1. Inheritance; an estate that passes from an ancestor to an heir by
descent or course of law; that which is inherited. In Scot's law, it sometimes
signifies immovable estate, in distinction from movable.
2. In Scripture, the saints or people of God are called his
heritage, as being claimed by him, and the objects of his special care. 1 Pet.5.

Our godly heritage, background & roots are very important to us, as individuals, a family & a nation. We could not be who we are today, without our heritage. We truly are a blessed nation!!!

Once we are married, I will be joining Mark & his family in breeding & selling dogs. So far, Mark & I own two min pins (Miniature Pinschers), a standard poodle & an Italian Greyhound. This will be our foundation breeding stock. We hope to grow our kennel & branch into some designer breeds (cavapoos etc) in upcoming years!

Mark & I dream of having a farm of our own someday, the good Lord willing! His parents & mine have passed onto us the importance of a multi-generational family Vision, where the extended family lives close to each other, works together & grows together. There are many benefits to this concept! We plan to leave a godly legacy of many Ritters who seek after the Lord for many generations to come!

After our wedding has passed, this blog will be used to keep you updated on the happenings around our Farm, kennel & any family news we might have to share! Stay posted!

Lord's sight, but also in the sight of man..."
